My Concise Profile of Nicholas Bredimus — Designer & Inventor Extraordinaire
A major improvement in air travel and hospitality was kicked off by Nicholas Bredimus, who combined them with the programming world to establish a new way to do business. He has done everything from creating software programs that automate resource and time intensive processes to enhancing air safety and designing high-value homes. No matter what his attention turns to, you can bet he will direct every last ounce of his passion to it.
His family history can reveal everything you might need to know concerning the source of his abilities and the amount he has accomplished. Drawn together from a true melting pot, his family can be traced to the time of ancient Rome, with the maternal line emerging from Germany and Scotland. An equally varied blend dominates his father’s side; before emigrating in the late nineteenth century, the family lived in England and Luxembourg.
This determined spirit prevailed on arrival. Part of a family of seven siblings — four girls and three boys — Nicholas was blessed with a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a nurse. His residences over the course of several years ranged across four states; Arizona, Virginia, Texas and Missouri. So what did Nicholas Bredimus do to capitalize on his upbringing and studies? A series of high-powered posts were soon his, all working for distinguished airlines. These included the position of vice president for Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines, and even Hughes Airwest. All these achievements nothwithstanding, the airline industry has had reason to be thankful, above all, for services in the realm of computer programming. His creation of aircraft maintenance computer programs, now used throughout the entire air travel business while initially designed for US Airways, resulted in what is still his most popular program. He would look next at taking and recording reservations. For both hotels and air travel he produced software to handle most of the work that had been involved prior to automation. And next came QuikTix, an automatic, networked system for ticket ordering that stands as a first. Even though this was definitely his forte, he regularly worked in non-software fields. Responsible jobs with American Express and American Airlines were to come, and in the biggest move of all he launched a firm of his own seventeen years ago.
Though he has departed from the roles in which he first experienced success, his skills are nonetheless still in demand. He’s at work now at the forefront of architecture — balancing the requirements of esthetics with true concern for the ecology. It’s really stunning how far drive can bring you.
