Be Happy – 5 Easy Tips

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

We all want to be happy, or maybe just a bit happier than we are already. We often tend to compare ourselves with others, whom we see as happier than we are. Instead why not focus on yourself and take a few actions every day to increase your level of happiness? Here are my first five tips to help you be happy.

1. Breathe: in the West we often breathe very shallowly. Just taking time to become aware of your breath will calm you. Then begin to count as you slowly inhale, then count to the same number again as you slowly exhale. As you repeat this process you will find yourself taking longer and deeper breaths, and becoming more relaxed.

2. Relax: life in modern society is frequently stressful, but the stress can be controlled if you find a method of relaxing which suits you. Activities such as yoga and Pilates concentrate the mind on what the body is doing and give you a break from endless thinking and worrying. Try a meditation tape or technique to quieten the mind and put things back into perspective. Attend a class and learn to relax alongside other like-minded people.

3. Visualise: imagine your favourite place, a place where you feel relaxed, at home and protected. This could be a beach, park, lake, mountain or building. Start to notice your senses – what do you see, what can you hear, what smells are present, is there a taste associated to where you are, what can you feel around you (warm sand, cool water, soft fabric)? Imagine your closest friend there with you, someone you feel totally comfortable with. Keep exploring and notice how you are feeling. You can do this for as long as you wish.

4. Exercise regularly: get out at lunchtime or when there is a natural break in your work and have a walk, go swimming or go to the gym. Try to be aware of what you are doing, how your body is moving and what is happening around you and you will let go of anxieties quicker.

5. Find a purpose for your life: do you have a purpose for your life other than earning money? You will be happier if you do. A Dutch study looked at the aspirations of two groups of students those on a business course and those training to be teachers. The business students were more likely to be interested in making money, while the teachers were more concerned with helping their pupils. The study found that the teachers, although earning less, ended up much happier than the business students.

Give these tips a try and see how much they help. Then have a look at my article “Be Happy – 5 More Tips” for some more simple suggestions to increase your happiness.

Is Poker a Man’s Game?

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

According to most of the traditional notions about poker, poker is a game to be played on guy’s night. In the most cliché example of poker, men sit around the table smoking cigars and playing poker while their wives are off doing a typically gender defined activity, like knitting or baking. Of course, in the modern world where gender roles are no where nearly as sharply defined as they were in the 1950’s, many people wonder if poker is still a masculine game.

According to a major 2006 survey, approximately 73.8% of poker players are still male. This may be an extremely discouraging statistic for any woman who is looking to join the poker world? How can a woman succeed in such a man dominated field? The answer to this easy, women can succeed in poker the same way that they can succeed in any other area of life. And while the bulk of poker players are male, that doesn’t’ mean that there are not a few sharp female players giving them a run for their money.

Gender should never be the defining factor at the poker table. It should come down to how you play, the pots you win, and your overall skill. Poker is one of the few areas can meet on entirely equal terms, so while poker may be a man’s game at the moment, it won’t be in the future.

SELF MADE PARIS HILTON

SELF MADE PARIS HILTON

Copyright © 2005

…….. every where, just every where, all over the media like the cheese on pizza. If you don’t believe what I’m saying just query “Overture “.just click the hyper link and type Paris Hilton, you will be surpriced. At the time when I was writing this article, the results were:

KEYWORD PHRASE…….. ……. SEARCHES

Paris Hilton ………………………….1138679

Paris Hilton …………….. ……………90909

and …………..lastly

Paris Hilton Layout …………………..1137

I don’t wanna type more search results here for the reasons you already know.

anyway

At the same time Paris Hilton had a car crash on wednesday. Nobody really care if so and so scratch your car but when Paris Hiltons boyfriend slammed that Bentley into the back of the truck, boy….. everybody was talking about it on the Net.

By the way! who is Paris Hilton anyway? She is the great grand daughter of Hilton Hotels founder, Conrad Hilton.

Paris is the “SELF made” celebrity. She promoted herself and she has oversshadowed all other celebrities on the net.

Now this word “SELF made” really touches me and here I come in to explain how important is to be SELFmade.

You see! their is a very powerful force when you use this word. Most people try to fake or try to use others, just to be recognized.

To be selfmade is to be harmonized within yourSELF.To be connected to your inner SELF.

When you feel lon ely or depressed. you get disconnected from yourSELF .

Let me explain,

let say the computer you are using right now is YOU (conscious mind) and your Internet service provider computer is your inner self (unconscious mind).

As you already know your computer is not the one that controls the service you are using, it is the server, the main computer that has a full control.

Anything that happen to the server will affect your service but not vice versa.

So when you feel lon ely. is as if the link between a PC and the main server is broken, that harmony is destructed, signals will not be transmitted well. This is the reason why people get this weird feeling.

Some people can’t eat nor drink. If you feel dep ressed. you need to resolve that disharmony in your mind very quickly

Now there are many ways you can do this, one of the best way is to do what Paris Hilton has done, she made herSELF.

You have to “make yourSELF” by getting reconnected to your innerSELF.

All that destructive talk has to be trashed, talk like I can’t do this or that, I’m bored, no body loves me, I’m old or I’m lonely has to be flushed in to the toilet.

Then sit down, relax and see yourSELF taking all bad thoughts out and flush them in to the toilet.

Also avoid SELF destruction people, even if they are your best friends, because it is better to lose your friends than to lose yourSELF.

Then imagine yourself a very happy person who is smiling confidently.Actualy see yourself already have those feelings.

sincerely,

Is your hope true or false?

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Is your hope true or false?

Faith Fellowship Church PO Box 1586 Broken Arrow, OK 74013 Terry Dashner, pastor

Albert P. Stauderman writes in his book, Let Me Illustrate (Augsburg Publishing House, 1983), an interesting story. Stauderman writes, “During World War II, the ‘cargo cult’ developed among the primitive and superstitious natives of New Guinea. As they watched the American soldiers, they observed that whenever something was needed, a merchant ship or plane brought it in. They decided that there was some magic about this, and connected it with the army uniforms. Eagerly they made off with discarded uniforms and even stole uniforms, expecting that this would give them the power to obtain valuable materials, presumably from the white men’s gods. Maybe they are still waiting.”

This brings me to a topic of discussion–hope. Hope can be true or false. May I ask you a question? Are you planning for a bright future? You should. There is nothing wrong in planning, working, and longing for a prosperous future. With God all things are possible. God is preparing a grand future for us (John 14). This is a Biblical fact. Unfortunately the problem for some is that they are pinning their future on false hopes. This is dangerous. If your hope is based on some kind of magic in the sky, you’re magic might disappoint you.

I remember reading this story by the same author who is cited above. At the World’s Fair in 1939 at San Francisco, one of the attractions was a pile of money said to total $1,000,000. For 25 cents, visitors were allowed to touch the money. Were they any richer for it, or were they just 25 cents poorer? Again, false ideas and false hopes can rob people even of the little they have.

My prayer for you today is this. I pray that God may bless you with all spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. Christ is our true hope. He is our only hope against deception. Jesus is our only hope for a bright and glorious future.

Keep the faith. Stay the course. Jesus is coming soon. This is our blessed Hope.

The Consistency of God in His Promises (Series 1, Lesson 1)

Monday, December 29th, 2008

This is lesson 1 in a series of lessons on the promises of God and what they mean to us in a contemporary world. These lessons are designed to be easily used for personal Bible Study or as a guide for group Bible Studies. Each of the lessons will include a set of discussion questions at the end of the lesson, which can be used either privately for introspection or in a group setting as provocative discussion builders.

This lesson focuses on the promises of God and his unfailing, immutable steadfastness as He administers His promises. Before we can stand on His promises (or the promises of anyone), we must first trust the reputation of the promiser (the one doing the promising). You see, promises are useless if the promiser is not able to maintain his word. When one changes his promises from time to time, the promises are also less powerful (actually useless) than if we know that the terms of a promise are the same from time to time.

With God, we know that we have an unchangable, all-powerful God Who has all the power in the universe to back up his every promise. Our most accurate source for information about God is the Bible, which repeatedly indicates that He has always existed, and that He created the heavens, the earth, and the entire universe. (Gen. 1:1-2:3, Job 38-39, John 1:1-5, Rev. 1:8).

Wise King Solomon wrote about God, “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it” (Ecc. 3:14a). One of David’s Psalms tells us: “But the Lord shall endure forever” (Ps. 9:7a). Another tells us: “But thou, O Lord, shalt endure forever; and thy remembrance unto all generations.” (Ps. 102:12). Later in the same psalm, we read: “Of old thou hast laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.” (PS. 102: 25-27).

Recorded in the book of Numbers, Balaam, speaking on behalf of God, says to Balak: “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: for He hath said, and shall he not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Num. 23:19). O, what a wonderful thing to know, that the God which speaks promises is a God that does not lie, does take back what He says He is going to do, and does not speak and not make it good! How many times have we been promised by someone something and they do not “make it good”? And here we have it, God will make it good. His Word is always good; He always does what He says He is going to do.

Later in history, when the Israelites were again testing God by turning away from Him and His goodness and prosperity, Malachi the prophet records the Word of God: “For I am the Lord, I change not” (Mal. 3:6a). In the New Testament, after the death and resurrection of our personal Saviour, the Son of God Himself, the writer of Hebrews tells us: “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Heb. 13:8). And these are but a few of the references in the Bible to God’s immutability and His constancy.

When He promises something, he means to keep His promise! He never casually makes a promises or offers a blessing (or, beware, a curse) if He is not going to back up His Word with action. Once He initiates a promise or a covenant, His part of it will always hold true, regardless of what we do.

Questions for discussion:

What do we know about the promises of God?

What does it really mean that His promises are backed up by His unchanging nature?

What does it mean to you personally, that His word is always sure and steadfast?

Does this change the way you see the God of the Universe, recognizing that He doesn’t simply create some promises for one time and circumstance, and others for other times and circumstances, but that His nature requires that His promises are consistent throughout all time?

Search Engine Marketing: 20 Nitty-Gritty Strategies To Compel People To Link To Your Website

Monday, December 29th, 2008

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know
that having quality inbound links from websites with
high page ranks can help you attain high rankings
in all the Search Engines.

But achieving this can be more difficult to do than can
be imagined.

Why will a website with high page rank link to you,
a website with low page rank?

That is the million dollars question.

And I have a million dollars answer for you.

Below are a few search engine marketing secrets to
help you.

1. Offer other web sites free content to post on
their web site. Include your link on all of your content.
The content should related to your web site because
it will be in front of your target audience.

2. When you visit a web site you’ve enjoyed a lot,
write a review for the site. Write about the benefits
you gain from the web site. Tell them they can publish
it on their web site if they link to your web site.

3. Allow other people to publish your e-zine on their
web site. Include your web site’s ad and link in each
issue you publish. This may also help you increase
the number of people that subscribe to your e-zine.

4. Market your web site as a free web book. Design
your web site with a title page, table of contents,
chapters, etc. Just allow other people to give away
the web book by linking to your web site.

5. Give your visitors an instant article directory. Tell
your visitors they can instantly add a free article
directory to their web site by linking to yours. Just
place your ad or banner ad on top of the article
directory for your main web site.

6. Allow other web sites to use your discussion board
for their web site visitors. Just have them link directly
to the discussion board. Include your web sites ad or
banner ad at the top of the discussion board.

7. Start a members only web site. Tell visitors what’s
in your members only site and what it costs to gain
access. Offer them a free membership if, in exchange,
they link to your web site.

8. Offer your visitors a free sign up to your affiliate
program. Pay them commission to sell your products
or services. Just give them an affiliate link to track their
sales. People will link to your web site to make extra
money.

9. Create your own award site for other web sites.
Give the winners a graphic or text link to place on their
web site when they win. This will link your web site
to theirs and draw more traffic to your web site.

10. Are you an expert on a particular subject? Offer
people free consulting via e-mail if, in exchange, they
either link to your site. People will consider this a
huge value because consulting fees can be very
expensive.

11. When you purchase a product and it exceeds your
expectations e-mail the business a testimonial. Make
sure your statement is detailed. Give them permission
to publish it on their web site if they link to your site.

12. Create a directory of web sites on a specific topic.
Give people the option of adding the directory to their
web site by linking to it. Put your business ad at the
top of the directory’s home page.

13. Exchange content with other web sites. You could
trade articles, top ten lists, etc. Both parties could
include a resource box at the end of the content.

14. Allow people to download software at no charge
from your web site, if they link to your web site. The
software could be freeware, shareware or demos.

15. Trade other forms of advertising to people that
link to your web site. You could trade e-zine ads,
print ads, autoresponder ads, classified ads, ebook
ads, etc.

16. Give away web space to people for free. Since
you are giving it away for free, request they link to
your site by placing your ad or banner to the site.

17. Join or create a web ring. A web ring is a group
of web sites on a similar subject agreeing to link
together. To find a web ring to join type keywords
“web rings” into your search engine of choice.

18. Create an online club or association. Tell your
visitors what’s included in the membership and what
it costs to join. Offer them a free membership if, in
exchange, they link to your web site.

19. Allow people to use an online service or utilities
from your web site if, in exchange, they link to your
web site. The online service could be an e-mail
account, search engine submission, web page design,
copywriting, proofreading, etc.

20. Offer a free e-book to your web site visitors. The
ebook should be related to your target audience.
Allow them to give the e-book to their own web site
visitors by linking directly to your web site.

May these search engine marketing secrets help you to
make a lot of money.

Link Exchange – Free Backlinks or Paid Link Exchange Services – Which Is Best?

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Link exchange is a must – First of all, link exchange is an essential part of search engine optimization and website traffic. A constant effort at exchanging links will result in more and more steady web traffic and an gradual increase in search engine rankings on all 3 major search engines.

Manual link exchange is slow – However, link exchange done manually can be very, very time consuming. I have found that when I search for relevant sites, email the site owner, finally contact someone, post the links, etc. It can take up to 2-3 hours just to find one good backlink. I hardly think this is worth the time.

Join a link exchange service – One way to get more links at a time, is to join a link exchange service. This can be a big time saver. These services are also usually free or low priced.

Buying text links? – There is also the possibility of buying text links, which are usually much more expensive and the link is a one-way link. The problem that I see with these types of links, is that they require a long term commitment of sometimes hundreds or thousands of dollars in order to see any result. Also, if you do see a result, then you are really locked in to paying the monthly fee for the link.

I prefer methods of getting backlinks, where I can exchange many links with many people for a small fee. I havent had much success with free link exchange programs, nor expensive ones, but more success with programs that are right in the middle.

View our recommended link exchange program online to get thousands of backlinks, fast and cheap.

Bryan Ellis comments on Virtual Real Estate Investing

Friday, December 26th, 2008

A newcomer to the world of investments in the notion of “Virtual Real Estate Investing“. There are many variations on what this term means, encompassing everything from using the internet to aid in real estate investing efforts to participating in online games such as SecondLife.

To separate fact from fiction, I asked Bryan Ellis for comments. He’s the man many consider to be the father of this new form of investing.

“I began using the term ‘virtual real estate investing’ in the late 1990’s when I realized the clear similiarities in profit strategies, regardless of whether the “real estate” is “virtual” or “physical” said Ellis.

An example of the similar nature of “virtual” and “physical” real estate Bryan Ellis likes to point out is the methods of making a profit from domain names compared to physical real estate. “These types of assets – websites and physical real estate – can be monetized in very similar ways like buy lo/sell high, leasing/rental and advertising opportunities” he says.

The similarities really are obvious. Consider this: If you own a piece of real estate in a desirable neighborhood, your real estate has value because other people are interested in that location. Likewise, if you own a desirable domain name, others will find value in it because it serves their purposes. So it doesn’t matter if you own physical real estate or virtual real estate – you’ll likely use similar strategies to turn them into money in your pocket.

In our next installment of this series on virtual real estate investing, Bryan Ellis will share the internet analogies to the physical concept of real estate development.

Glyconutrients

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

What are Glyconutrients? Glyconutrients are eight newly discovered biologically-active sugars that are responsible for making up the structure of every body cell. First discovered in Aloe Vera, Glyconutrients are essential to good health. It is because of these glyconutrients that cells are able to communicate with one another.

The 8 glyconutrients are:

  1. Mannose

  2. Galactose

  3. Glucose

  4. Fucose

  5. Sylose

  6. N-acetylglucosamine

  7. N-acetylgalactosamine

  8. N-acetylneuraminic acid

A deficiency in glyconutrients can lead to a weakend immune system, causing ill health. Because nutrition and disease correlate with one another, scientists have found that glyconutrients are vital components to health and overall wellbeing.

While we are exposed to air, food and water toxins, our foods are also being stripped of these crucial nutrients; therefore, glyconutrients play a substantial role in helping to prevent many disease conditions by boosting our immune systems and cognitive ability as well.

Based on research, it is necessary that glyconutrients are added to ones’ diet.

To learn more about glyconutrients or if you are interested in finding out how you can obtain proper glyconutrients, feel free to peruse our consumer resources’ directory. Or, if you are interested in attaining an education in natural health or naturopathic medicine that incorporates instruction and use of glyconutrients, visit the many naturopathic schools listed on Holistic Junction.
